In October 2017, the Russian Federation will begin to compensate for the costs of transporting grain by rail from the Urals, from Siberia and the Volga region to the ports of the south of the country. This is written by RNS with reference to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev.
As planned, support stabilizes the market both in the center and in remote areas. It will be possible to remove surplus grain in the south, from Siberia and the Urals. A total of about 3 million tons of surplus grain will be removed from the market, which will help stabilize prices.
As noted by Tkachev, the price of grain in Siberia and the Urals has always been understated by a ruble-two, which made production "not very effective" and "not very profitable." The remote territories produce up to 70% of the grain in Russia, the minister added.
Earlier, the Ministry proposed to send 3 billion rubles ($ 51.71 million) to compensate railway tariffs for the transportation of grain for export from Siberia, the Urals, the Volga region and the Center to the southern ports.
