Tomsk region has become a pilot region for the introduction of the all-Russian animal identification system, agronews.com reports. The process will take six months.
According to the draft of Rosselkhoznadzor, all breeding farms are obliged to conduct electronic identification and labeling of animals since 2018. Since 2019, a similar procedure will be mandatory for all commodity (including farmers) farmhouses. Tomsk region is the first in Russia to contribute to a single electronic database of all animals born after September 1, 2017.
