Veterinary safety issues discussed in Kazakhstan

Veterinary safety issues were considered at the meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan. Today, the livestock of animals in Kazakhstan is about 27 million head, including 6.5 million head of cattle, 18.1 million head of sheep and goats, 2.2 million horses and 177.6 thousand camels, and also 36.7 million birds. Since the beginning of this year, 23 seat of diseases have been recorded. Stabilization of the epizootic situation is noted for such diseases as viral diarrhea and epizootic lymphangitis.

 

In order to ensure the output of Kazakhstan's livestock products to international markets, the work on the development of a Roadmap for the implementation of a targeted export policy is completed, providing for measures to harmonize domestic documents and food safety standards with similar documents and regulations of countries - potential importers of Kazakhstani products - China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Kuwait.

 

In particular, China abolished the ban on the import of livestock products from 9 regions of Kazakhstan, audited the system of veterinary service and the inspection of lamb producers, production and processing of bee products. The process of harmonizing veterinary requirements for the export of Kazakhstani frozen and chilled mutton, as well as live sheep to Iran, is at the final stage. UAE agreed veterinary certificates for exports of livestock and chicken eggs.
