Chinese COFCO to build a wheat processing plant

The Government of the Penza Region, Tekhnokord company and the Chinese COFCO Corporation signed a tripartite protocol of intent on mutual cooperation at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. This is a project for the construction of a plant for the wheat deep processing in Serdobsk, Penza region.

A plant for wheat deep processing will be built in the Kaluga region

The launch of the biotechnological plant for the wheat deep processing Rosva is planned this year in the Kaluga Region. The project plans to invest about 20 billion RUR.

Russia predicts a grain harvest of about 118 million tons in 2019

"Taking into account the latest data we collected from the regions, there is reason to increase the forecast for grain harvest this year to 118 million tons. This is about 5% more than last year, which will allow us to fully meet the domestic needs of the country and increase export potential", said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev at the Russian Investment Forum, which takes place in Sochi.  

The Open Laboratory 2019 Festival took place in OmSAU

On February 9, the Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsky Biocluster member) took part in the citywide popular festival of science and knowledge within the framework of the international project 'Open Laboratory 2019'. The University’s Scientific Agricultural Library has become an event venue. About 100 people took part in the research event: students, teachers, university staff, students from Omsk schools, Omsk residents.

Russia will finance the agro-industry by 4.2 trillion RUR in 2019

The Russian government approved the extension of the state program for the development of agriculture and regulation of the markets for agricultural products, raw materials and food until 2025. The resolution says that in 2021-2025 the amount of funding for the state program will be 4.2 trillion RUR ($ 63.02 billion).

Poland confirmed ASF outbreak

Poland confirms the first outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in domestic pigs in 2019. The disease was detected in a pig farm in Warmia and Masuria province.

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan want to sell agricultural equipment in Russia

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to begin jointly organizing the supply to Russia of modern agricultural equipment of joint production. This was discussed during the talks held on February 12 in Tashkent by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.
