Three Omsk schools will become basic schools of the RAS
On August 14, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences held a meeting on the implementation of the project to create basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Higher school in the region was represented by leading universities: Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsky Biocluster member), Omsk State University, Omsk State Technical University, Siberian State Automobile and Highway University, Omsk State Pedagogical University. 
It is planned to extend subsidization of railway tariffs for grain exports from regions remote from ports at least until the end of the year. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at a meeting on national projects in Kurgan, Interfax reports. Now this state support mechanism is valid until August 31. 
A larva with suspicion of a quarantine object was received at the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations of the Omsk reference center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member). As a result of an entomological examination, the Codling moth, a quarantine object for the Russian Federation, was identified. The insect was found in a batch of peaches weighing 6 tons. 
The use of starches in the launch of new food and beverage products is growing worldwide. According to Innova Market Insights, in 2018 the use of starches in new products increased by 8% compared to the same indicator in 2017. 
On August 16, representatives of government, non-profit organizations, heads of agricultural companies and banks discussed issues of technical re-equipment of agricultural enterprises. The meeting was organized by the Public Chamber of the Omsk region, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk region. 
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the Russian government and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) have agreed on a document that gives Russian producers the right to start delivering their pork products to Singapore.
